Who we are

 

CWPC is a sub regional partnership of Skills for Care. Skills for Care is the employer led authority on the training standards and development needs of nearly one million social care staff in England providing over £25 million in funding to support improved training and qualifications for managers and staff.

What Skills for Care do

Skills for Care work in consultation with carers, employers and service users, Skills for Care aims to modernise adult social care in England, by ensuring qualification and standards continually adapt to meet the changing needs of people who use care services. They do this by: 

  • Developing national standards and a qualification framework for our sector
  • Collecting skills data and researching issues affecting carers and people who use care services
  • Creating a national workforce development strategy for all sectors
  • Building employer-led regional support networks to liaise with health, local government and education at local, regional and national level

What CWPC do:

  • Support completion of NMDS by offering training and advice
  • Provide Organisational Needs Analysis matching skills gaps to training
  • Support Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Promote careers in care through the Care Ambassador scheme
  • Provide advice and information on funding and changes to care sector standards including personalisation.
  • Communicate via newsletter and website
  • Support the development of New Ways Of Working (NWOW)
  • Allow you to voice your issues and concerns to Skills For Care

CWPC consists of:

  • A central steering group made up of key stakeholders.
  • Four satellite Task Groups which cover: Marketing and Communications; Employers; Training and Development and Workforce Planning. The Task Groups are made up of employers, representatives from social services, training organisations, colleges and universities.
