Skills for Care Training Strategy Implementation Fund 2009/10

CWPC has again been successful in submitting a bid against this funding, on behalf of its members, and has been awarded £120,000. 

 

It is therefore proposed to make an initial offer to each establishment of 8 units at £65 per unit, totalling £520.  If some members do not apply for their full allocation, there may be the opportunity for you to access further funding later in the year.

 

The grant is available to contribute towards the cost of:

  • LDQ Induction
  • Common Induction Standards 
  • Management Induction Standards
  • Health & Social Care NVQ level 2,3 & 4
  • Leadership and Management for Care Services 

In addition, this year, the funding also covers training on:

  • First Aid
  • Food Hygiene
  • Moving and Handling
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) for work

Also attached are details of how to claim TSI funding, together with the appropriate claim forms.  PLEASE NOTE that Skills for Care set strict criteria for accessing this funding, ie

assessment and verification has to have taken place after 1 January 2009

  • LDQ Induction must be completed within twelve weeks of commencement of employment
  • Common Induction Standards must be completed within twelve weeks of commencement of employment
  • Management Induction Standards, must be completed within six months of commencement of employment
  • First Aid / Food Hygiene / Moving and Handling, must provide a valid copy of the Certifcate and attach to the relevant completed Skills for Care form.  Certificates should clearly demonstrate it is validated by an awarding body.
  • ESOL must provide a valid copy of the Certifcate and attach to the relevant completed Skills for Care form. Certificates should clearly demonstrate it is validated by an awarding body.

  • claims must be submitted on the official forms (watermarked 2009-2010)
  • reimbursement will be made after successful submission of claims 

All partners must complete the NMDS in order to access the TSI funding.
